report from Chairman Patti Leeke May 2003 Committee-Hospital, Newborn, ER and Out Patient waiting rooms See Photos Members are turning in their magazines to the hospital to be offered free of charge to patients at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. In charge of this is Patti Leeke and Ben Parker. Rachel Zeller is donating 50+ Ty Beanie Babies for Kiwanis to the ER for scared & frightened children. David Harris donated two picnic tables one each to the ER and Out Patient waiting rooms. He also donated a large box of coloring books for Kiwanis to help resupply free of charge our book supplies. We thank David & Wal-mart for these supplies. I’ve just now ran thru the supply. This saved our club a good deal of money. We check at various times to make sure the toys, books & crayons are in good condition. Here’s what we have spent. 6/17/02 Newborn baby supplies $117.13 6/18/02 ER supplies $176.95 6/20/02 Newborn baby supplies $114.13 8/01/02 ER supplies $26.34 8/15/02 Out Patient w/rm supplies $181.14 9/12/02 Newborn baby supplies $229.05 1/17/03 I.V. childs cart & high chair $879.90 4/14/03 Newborn supplies $191.18 4/14/03 Stickers for BHM donated items $14.50 Total $1,930.32 The hospital is thrilled with all the help that we have offered since we started this program. We bargain hunt for all our prices too. Committee members: Patti Leeke Chairman, Past Pres. David Harris (who set this committee up in 2002), President Randy Thetford, David St. Clair, Margaret A. Moore, Ben Parker & Rachel Zeller. Ps. This is less than what we spent on one child with the Reading Railroad. This club does so many worthwhile projects. Thanks for helping. |
